Keeping Your Whole Care Team in the Loop with Family Sharing

BubSync Team··4 min read

The care team problem

A modern baby's care team is rarely just two people. It might include a partner who works from home, two sets of grandparents, a night nurse, a daycare centre, or a postpartum doula. Each of these people needs information — and giving it to them shouldn't be a second job.

BubSync's family sharing feature is built to solve exactly this.

How family sharing works

Family sharing is a Premium feature. Once you upgrade, every BubSync account has a Family tab. From here you can:

  • Invite a family member by sharing a unique link or 6-character code.
  • See who has joined and manage their access.
  • Remove a member at any time if circumstances change.

Once a Premium member joins, they immediately see your baby’s live timeline. Any activity they log appears on every other family member’s screen.

Inviting carers

Inviting someone to BubSync takes about 30 seconds:

  1. Open the Family tab in the app.
  2. Tap Invite Member.
  3. Choose Share Link or Show Code.
  4. Send the link via message, email, or just read the code aloud.

The invited person opens the link (or enters the code in their BubSync app) and is immediately connected to your baby's family.

Handover instructions and notifications

Premium plans include handover tools to keep care smooth between people and shifts:

  • ✅ Share clear handover notes between carers
  • ✅ Get reminders for key next actions (feed, nap, and check-in windows)
  • ✅ Keep everyone aligned without repeating the same briefing

This is especially useful for night nurses, daycare transitions, and split-shift households.

Permission levels

BubSync has two permission levels:

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull access — logs, history, insights, settings, billing, family management
MemberLog activities, view timeline, and use Premium features if the family is subscribed.

You set the role when inviting. You can change it any time from the Family tab.

Tips for multi-caregiver households

Be liberal with invites. The value of BubSync increases with every person who logs. Even if grandma only babysits once a week, having her log the afternoon bottle means you have a complete picture.

Brief new members. When you add someone, spend 2 minutes walking them through the + button. Logging should feel effortless.

Use notes for context. “Seemed gassy after this feed” is the kind of note that's invaluable to the next carer. Encourage your team to use it.

Check the timeline handoff. When handing bub to a carer, pull up the timeline together. “Last fed at 11:30, had a 45-minute nap at 1 — she's due for a feed around 3.” That 30-second handoff replaces a 10-minute conversation.

Real-world scenarios

Dual-income household

Both parents log from their own phones. Neither has to ask the other for the last feed time — it's always visible.

Remote grandparent

Grandma lives two hours away but looks after bub every Wednesday. She has BubSync on her phone. Wednesday's logs are seamlessly part of the week's timeline.

Returning to work

When the primary carer returns to work, the daycare provider or nanny can be added as a Member. With shared logs and handover notifications, drop-off and pick-up are smoother and nothing falls through the cracks.

Family sharing is one of the features BubSync users tell us they can't live without. We hope it makes your care team feel a little more like a team. 👨‍👩‍👧
